Peggy Zee
Peggy Zee, a leader in Early
Childhood and a specialist in this field since 1983, owns and manages The
Experiential Learning Centre Pte Ltd (TELC) & Zee School, two child care centres
in Singapore.
No stranger to the media, Peggy has been in the limelight since 1986.
Peggy also owns
Project-Learning!, a curriculum development and preschool educational
consultancy. Peggy was the Principal and Director of the child care centre at
the Singapore Polytechnic from 1986 to 2002.
Peggy completed her Degree in Early Childhood in the USA and upon her return to
Singapore, Peggy was invited to lecture at the Ministry of Social Affairs (now
known as the Ministry of Community Development and Sports). In 1984, she was
selected to attend a two-year Teacher's Trainer's course conducted by the
Institute of Education, Singapore.
A gazetted Voluntary Probation Officer (GVPO) Peggy has lectured at various
institutions since 1983. These include the National Institute of Education, PCF
(PAP Community Foundation), Singapore Institute of Management: Diploma in Early
Childhood Studies Kinderland Educational Services and SAUC Advent-Link.
She is renowned for her successful and innovative ways of teaching young
children Mathematics. In March 2003, Peggy was commissioned by PCF Pioneer
Branch (PAP Community Foundation) to rewrite their English and Mathematics
curriculum for Kindergarten 1 and 2 and conduct monthly training sessions for
their teachers.
She also conducts in-house training courses and talks for kindergartens, child
care centres, primary schools, special schools, and government agencies such as
the National Library, National Council of Social Services, People's Association,
Rainbow Centre, Gleneagles, KK Hospital, MCDS Probation Department and Singapore
Press Holdings. Peggy is also a favourite with parents in her Parenting
Workshops.
Known for her enthusiasm and passion in early childhood education, she finds
great joy in sharing her interesting methods and ideas she developed over the
past two decades with teachers and parents. Her expertise is in teaching
children English, Reading, Thinking Skills and Mathematics to children between 1
to 8 years old. Peggy is a well-liked lecturer, known for her lively methods of
delivering curriculum content and innovative ideas to the participants, bringing
meaning and enjoyment to difficult to understand topics. Her goal is to share
her passion for teaching and working effectively with children, constantly
striving to find new ideas and teaching methods to make learning fun and helping
children learn.
