Manjeet Shergill is a Singaporean
who decided to follow her inner calling and joined St. Patrick's Art Centre (now
LASALLE-SIA College of the Arts) started by the late Brother Joseph McNally.
Manjeet was among the first batch of art students to attend St. Patrick's Art
Centre. Having completed her course there, she continued studying art with
various different artists.
Since leaving St. Patrick's, Manjeet has worked full time as an artist,
gradually establishing a following of collectors and clientele, who regularly
visit her studio. She began exhibiting her work in 1997, both in Singapore and
abroad. Her Berlin exhibition in 1999 was well received. Shergill Studio was
established in 1997 as an independent studio and gallery from which to paint and
sell her work, and from where her paintings were regularly consigned to
galleries in Berlin , Bangkok and London .
In Singapore , Manjeet's paintings were exhibited in different art galleries,
before Manjeet decided to exhibit exclusively at ShergillStudio. In 2003,
together with two other partners, a local lawyer and a German gallery owner,
Manjeet established the Vermillion Group of Galleries, which was to become an
important part of the developing Holland Village art hub. Today Manjeet Shergill
exhibits and sells her paintings, and runs her popular Creative Art Workshops
from ShergillStudio
