James Robert Holdsworth


James Robert Holdsworth – Born in London UK and currently residing in Singapore, James is a Practicing artist, educator, founder and owner of BLOCK43 Studio Gallery (Singapore). Working as a painter but also Site Specific, Installations and sculpture, James is a Graduate of the University of Newcastle Upon-Tyne (UK) with a BA Honors Fine Art, and University of Reading (UK) with a Masters in Fine Arts (MFA). His lists of Awards include The John Christie Prize for painting, the John Bell Simpson award for painting and the Arts and Humanities Research Board London bursary award. James has exhibited his work extensively throughout the UK and Singapore and is also the organizer and curator for many art exhibitions. His works are part of private collections in Asia, France, UK and the United States.
 

James R Holdsworth (UK) Born in London, James was educated in UK with a Master’s Degree in Fine Art from University of Reading. His professional experience includes lecturing, visiting artist and curator. James has exhibited extensively throughout England, and Singapore, his recent exhibitions include “Different Strokes” at MITA Building. A practicing artist and educator residing in Singapore since 2000, he is currently the owner and curator of BLOCK43 Studio Gallery.

A site specific work encompassing the relationship with the viewer, and the architectonics of the environment. Questioning, the act of painting and representational space of abstraction.
