Angeline Choo Ai Loon, daughter of artist Choo Keng Kwang, chooses to specialize in painting orchids, investing them with a significance beyond that of a mere plant. Because they were first found in rainforests far from human contact, they personify, to her, freedom and purity. She paints them with sensitive realism, emphasizing their pristine beauty and invoking poetic associations
