Plan Stalls on Putting Banned Singapore Art Online

Despite blessings from the government, plans by Singapore artists to set up an online archive of literature and artworks snipped and banned by censors have stalled due to the lack of volunteers. The idea for an online catalog, first floated last December, was the brainchild of theater group The Necessary Stage and the Singapore Internet Community, a current affairs group. Alvin Tan, the theater group's artistic director, told Reuters on Friday the project was on hold due to the lack of volunteers and a shortage of funds to hire professionals.
