The Friday Event is about to grind to a halt with its last session on Women and Art. Some of you have been faithful supporters of this series and we would like to thank all those who have in one way or another kept in touch with the sessions.

The committee made up of Amanda Heng, Shirley Soh, Luanne Tay and myself is looking for anyone who would be interested in taking up the job of organizing another series of forums. Over the last 4 months, we have come to understand The Friday Event as a space which attempts to consolidate art issues and ideas; it is a space which may not produce conclusions on the issues discussed, but at least provides a base for further insights, questions and understandings of these issues. Over the last 4 months, we hope the sessions have served as some kind of marker for the evolution of fundamental issues like censorship or art communities.

The plan after these 4 sessions was to pass on the responsibilities of this space to another group of interested individuals; and to have this new group decide on the next set of issues and speakers. The previous committee would act as facilitators to this new group. All in all, about half a year's effort is needed.
