"aseanARToday2001 Singapore" features Singapore's leading contemporary
artists: Cai Heng, Eric Chan, Chua Ek Kay, Vincent Leow, Joyce Vyvyann Lim,
Kumari Nahappan, Francis Ng, Milenko Prvacki, Tang Mun Kit and Ian Woo.

"aseanARToday2001 Singapore" is part of a series of national exhibitions
held by the respective ASEAN countries - including Brueni, Cambodia,
Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam -
to promote the best of ASEAN contemporary art. The national exhibitions will
culminate in a regional exhibition in Malaysia, entitled aseanARToday2001,
which will showcase about 10 artists from each of the ASEAN countries.

This Singapore national exhibition features some of the best of Singapore's
contemporary artists. From recent graduates like Francis Ng to established
painters Chua Ek Kay and Milenko Prvacki, these artists represent the
diversity and high quality of two-dimensional contemporary art produced in
Singapore over the last 10 years. With cutting-edge concepts and
experimental approaches, these artists explore contemporary issues while
using familiar media like oil paint, Chinese ink, photography or digital
imaging.
